Urban Meyer Said He Hired A Coach Whose Only Job Was To Watch Michigan Year Round, And He Proceeded To Go 7-0 Against Them

Inject this into my veins. Urban hired a coach whose ONLY JOB was to study Michigan year round. And then he proceeded to go 7-0 against them. Could you imagine? You've got your Offensive Coordinator, your Defensive Coordinator, your Quarterbacks Coach, etc. And then you've got your Director of Beating Michigan. Put it on a business card. And whoever this dude was clearly did his job.

It didn't matter if we were underdogs like in 2018 (won 62-39, lol) or three touchdown favorites like in 2014, Ohio State respected their rival, prepared for them 365 days a year, and beat the shit out of them each November. Bring this mentality back.

Ryan Day, I hope you were listening. Urban Meyer was speaking directly to you. It just so happened that a crowd of people happened to be there as well.

And I'm not saying Ryan Day is a bad coach. I do like Ryan Day. He's 45-6 as a Head Coach, won a Rose Bowl, and has been robbed of a National Championship not once, but twice (along with losing one fair and square). But let's be very clear: if Ryan Day doesn't beat Michigan this year he's got to go. Once is unacceptable. Twice is offensive. Three times and you have to be fired. Publicly.

Within 15 minutes of the clock striking zero. I don't care if we go 13-1 and win the National Championship this year. Ryan Day's job and entire legacy is on the line on November 25th, where the Buckeyes will travel to Ann Arbor and be favored for the third straight year. And if he loses for the third straight year, I want an interim coach Brian Hartline leading the team onto the field in the postseason. Or better yet, I want the team to decline the bid to play in it because our season has already been declared a failure.

Here's Urban's entire clip last night when he spoke on the matter:

Two more takeaways:

- Controlling the line of scrimmage is the #1 thing Ohio State must do to get back to beating Michigan

Uh, ya think? Like I said in a previous blog, when Ohio State got the game within one score and NEEDED a 4th quarter stop, the next two Michigan possessions went:

1 play, 75 yards, touchdown (12 seconds)

3 plays, 92 yards, touchdown (60 seconds)

Bullied.

I like having flashy skill players. I love having Heisman candidates. But our video game like offense is 0-2 in the last two meetings vs. the Rival because when the ball gets placed down and it's time to play, Michigan pushes us around like rag dolls.

- Ryan Day is the right man for the job. "No doubt. Nobody better"

False. There are at least two people better for the job, and they were sitting up on the stage with Ryan Day last night. Those two people are Jim Tressel (9-1 vs. Michigan) and Urban Meyer himself. Both were wrongfully forced out from Ohio State, and I hope everyone that made mountains out of molehills in the adminstration and wouldn't stand by their coach and tell the public to kick rocks enjoyed these last two years of Michigan kicking our dicks in.
